Visit the Dior haute couture Fall Winter 2026–2027 show installation at the Musée Rodin
From Tuesday, July 7 from 2:00 p.m. to Sunday, July 12, 2026 inclusive, discover Grammar of Forms, an installation created for the Dior haute couture fashion show in the heart of the Sculpture Garden at the Musée Rodin.
Grammar of Forms offers an immersive experience into the world of Jonathan Anderson’s second Dior haute couture collection. For him, couture is akin to learning an extremely refined language: he masters its grammar, codes, techniques, and savoir-faire in order to continually renew its expression.
For this collection, Jonathan Anderson draws inspiration both from the Dior archives and from the work of sculptor Lynda Benglis. A major figure of the American art scene for over sixty years, she is particularly known for her sculptures often described as “frozen gestures,” which seem to suspend material in motion. She explores both traditional and unexpected materials—bronze, paper, wax, as well as latex, foam, or glitter—and works each of them to enhance their unique qualities. Shaped by both bodily presence and the landscapes in which she has lived—from New Mexico to India—Lynda Benglis continually redefines the essence of sculpture.
These qualities naturally resonate with haute couture, where garments give lasting form to movement—much like sculpture—and fully reveal themselves when worn. Like the sculptor, Jonathan Anderson explores recurring gestures and techniques, from pleating to knotting, from draping to embroidery, throughout his collections.
Each silhouette bears witness to the time and expertise behind its creation, reminding us that the most daring creative ideas always rest on the patience of artisanal craftsmanship.
Museum mediators will be on hand to accompany your discovery of this installation.
Make the most of your visit to explore the Musée Rodin’s permanent collections, housed in the Hôtel Biron, as well as L’Atelier Rodin, a space dedicated to families and hands-on discovery of sculpture.
