European Night of Museums 2026

A Mexican-themed evening at the Musée Rodin

Saturday, May 23, 2026, 6:30 pm – 12:30 am
Musée Rodin – Paris

On the occasion of this special evening event, the Rodin Museum is celebrating the bicentennial of diplomatic relations between France and Mexico, as well as the tenth anniversary of the installation of the most recent version of The Gates of Hell at the Soumaya Museum in Mexico City, where it has been on display since May 2016.
A custom-designed tour and special lighting highlighting Auguste Rodin’s works in the Soumaya Museum’s collections, creative workshops inspired by artisanal traditions, dance workshops and DJ sets featuring Latin rhythms inspired by contemporary Latin clubs, a themed pop-up bar...

Come experience a Mexican evening in the heart of Paris!

program :

The Little Late Night at the Atelier Rodin

So younger visitors can fully enjoy the European Night of Museums too, the Atelier Rodin stays open later with exclusive activities.

  • Continuous until 8:30 pm | Meet at the Atelier Rodin

Spotlight Talks in Front of the Works

At the beginning of the evening, students from the École du Louvre will accompany your nocturnal stroll, presenting a selection of works by Auguste Rodin in dialogue with works from the Soumaya Museum in Mexico City.

  • Continuous from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm | Hôtel Biron and Sculpture Garden

Ex-Voto Creative Workshop

Guided by an artist, discover the Mexican craft tradition of “milagritos,” or ex-votos: small objects made of metal, wood, or paper, offered in gratitude to a saint or to the Virgin Mary for a favor received. Create and take home your own object!

  • Designed and led by Ruth Morelos
  • From 7:30 pm to 11:30 pm | “Au Labo!” Space

Collective Reggaeton and Cumbiatrón DANCE Workshop

Led by two instructors and a DJ, experience with your whole body a major genre of Mexican culture since the 2000s. Echoing the dance movements that fascinated Rodin, join a large-scale workshop blending hip-hop, dancehall, Caribbean rhythms, and cumbiatrón.

  • Designed and led by the Divin0 collective
  • From 8:30 pm to 10 pm | Cour d’honneur

DJ Sets with Latin Rhythms

As night falls, the museum gives way to two DJs for an evening of dancing to Latin rhythms inspired by contemporary Mexico — from luminous electronic textures and hypnotic beats to darker basslines, spanning guaracha, cumbia, neo-perreo, and tribal music.

  • DJ sets by Pony Sirena Tropical followed by Rara Ma Rabbia
  • From 10 pm to midnight | Cour d’honneur

Pop-Up Bar

Throughout the evening, café-restaurant L’Augustine will offer drinks and a Mexican-inspired food selection.
