Ceramics

Rodin was never a ceramicist, in the true sense of the term, but he tried his hand at the genre in several manners. In his youthful years, he designed models to be manufactured industrially, a process over which he had no control. Later some of his own works were translated into stoneware by artists with whom he collaborated (Jeanneney, Lachenal…). Between these two periods, the sculptor was also employed for several years as a ceramic decorator at the Sèvres Porcelain Factory.
